Children love magic – and they love playing magicians too! At Jaipuria, we aim to keep the magic of learning alive through a number of activities.
Art and craft activities, for instance, help instil a sense of achievement and pride in children, boosting their self-confidence. The opportunity to create something with their own hands, not only boosts imagination building but also helps foster creativity. Artistic challenges and hurdles, something as small as which color to choose, help children develop key problem-solving skills.
Our Playgroup students were asked to make a Utility Box – an old carton or any box recycled to store their personal belongings. Through this activity, children improved their vocabulary and fine-motor skills. Children also learnt the concept of recycling – thinking of alternate uses for objects, realizing the importance of conserving earth’s resources. This is a lesson that they will carry with themselves throughout their lives and make them better global citizens of the future. We were amazed to see the many types of utility boxes that our creative young minds came up with!
