The innate curiosity of children opens up a world of possibilities for them. Taking advantage of the same, we at Playgroup Jaipuria foster scientific thinking in them by taking up easy to learn concepts through simplistic activities.
Using toys, blocks, and other such objects provided for visually stimulating opportunities to understand concepts like float and sink, heavy and light, germination and growth.
Discovering the growth of the green spikes on their ‘Grasshead’, experimenting with pepper and soap to understand how to keep the coronavirus away by regular washing of hands, mixing two colours to create another colour, and many such fun activities ensured that children were introduced to basic elements of scientific reasoning while also stimulating a sense of adventure and curiosity in them.
These sensory-rich activities enabled our young explorers to learn through hands-on involvement with soil, seeds, water, and paints. Engaging students in this manner at such a young age, helps nurture in them a love for science and develop problem solving abilities.
